I have been to several cleansing retreats with Alison Gaines over the last eighteen years. Two at Kripalu and one in Austin, Texas.
I found it very surprising that I never felt really hungry because juice, smoothies or soup are served four times a day, with access between servings if hungry or lightheaded.
Alison’s retreats are calming, much more than other detox programs I have attended, because she weaves relaxation techniques like mindful eating, yoga, meditation and visualization throughout the program.
Alison also covers quite a bit of information about nutrition, healthy eating, and ways to help with food cravings, especially sugar. I have enjoyed my times with Alison because she really cares about the people in her classes and that you leave after having a good experience. I would not have continued coming back to see Alison if her program was not a great benefit to me.
